Bits, Bytes & Bots Computer Adventures® provide fun technology education for children 6-14 years old. Our classes teach students how to build and program LEGO® Mindstorms™ robots, produce stop-motion animated movies, and program computer games (both 2D and 3D). Experience has proven that the best way to teach children is by providing fun, project-based activities that they are motivated to complete.
We’ve been designing and teaching computer education curriculum since 2002. Our classes receive positive feedback from students, parents and teachers and help prepare young students for their technological future.Our unique curriculum creates enthusiastic customers who crave more of what we offer.
Our curriculum includes the following, with more lessons being added.
Lego® Mindstorms Robotics (Ages 8-14)
The Lego® Mindstorms® Robots are the best teaching tool for engineering and robotics available. The Mindstorms® were developed at MIT as a tool for teaching children engineering and programming concepts. Our curriculum covers robotics from beginning to advanced. Our classes emphasize the fun to be had while learning about engineering, robotics, programming, mathematics, logic, design and trial and error. Children LOVE working with these ‘bots and solving the challenges provided by our curriculum. Parents and teachers love how much learning occurs.

e. Bits, Bytes & Beyond class for ages 6-7 (15 hours, half robots, half movies)
2D Game Creation using GameMaker software (Ages 8-14)
Kids love playing video games. We turn that passion into an educational opportunity with our Video Game Creation classes. Students leave class with a playable video game that they can play with their friends and keep working on after class is over. Students learn object-oriented programming using a drag-and-drop interface so they don’t need typing skills. You’ll be teaching variables, if-then statements, loops, the X-Y coordinate system, logic, and problem-solving. Programming is a great educational activity for this age group and you and their parents will be amazed at what the students can learn.

Stop motion animation (Ages 7-14)
Stop motion moving making is a great way for today’s video generation to be creative and tell stories. Movie making also teaches media literacy, video editing and computer skills. Students are thrilled with the movies they make. Our curriculum emphasizes the educational aspects of stop motion while letting kids enjoy the process.

3D Game Design using 3D GameStudio (Middle School/High School age)
Middle school and high school students crave advanced challenges that appeal to their interests. 3D design and game programming are tough topics that our curriculum clarifies and makes enjoyable to learn. Students are excited to make the kind of games they play and they are learning advanced computer skills.

Animation using Anime Studio (Middle/High School age)
Appeal to the budding artists in your community with our Anime curriculum. Anime is a stylized form of computer animation. Students learn the techniques professional animators use, including layer, point and bone animation. Animators are currently in big demand and our curriculum is a great introduction to the field.

Survey class
Our survey class, Exploring Bits, Bytes & Bots, is a great introduction to the different topics we teach. Students receive an introduction to robotics, movie making and game creation.

Battling Robots Birthday Party (2 hours)
Our popular robot birthday party curriculum is a 2 hour program where children learn to build, program and battle the Lego® Mindstorms® robots in robot sumo! Kids have a blast and parents find our parties a great edutainment event. This curriculum can be used for private groups, like scouts, as well.
